Epistle to the Hebrews facts for kids
The Letter to the Hebrews is one of the important letters found in the New Testament part of the Bible. It's a special message that helps us understand more about Jesus Christ.
For a long time, many people thought the Apostle Paul wrote this letter. But today, many scholars believe it might have been written by a group of early Christians. They think it was sent to a general group of Jews (also called Hebrews) or to a church that had many Jewish members.

What the Letter to the Hebrews Teaches
This letter explains that Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God, is the perfect way for humans to be forgiven for their mistakes. It says that Jesus is even greater than angels. It also teaches that Jesus is like a special "High Priest" forever, following the example of someone named Melchizedek from the Old Testament.
Jesus and the New Covenant
The letter explains that Jesus is the Messiah, a promised leader. His coming brought a "New Covenant" or a new agreement with God. This new agreement is much better than the "Old Covenant" that God made with people like Abraham and Moses. The writers of the letter say that if the Old Covenant had been perfect, God would not have needed to send His Son to start a new one.
How to Receive God's Grace
The letter encourages its readers to accept God's kindness and forgiveness. It teaches that people are made right with God through their strong belief and trust in God's ways. This means accepting Jesus Christ and His teachings.

Christians believe that Jesus is the one who connects people to the New Covenant. His famous sermon from a hill is seen by many Christian experts as a new version of Moses giving the Old Covenant from Mount Sinai.
