Epworth is a small community in Fannin County, Georgia, in the United States. It is an unincorporated community, meaning it does not have its own local government. It is also a census-designated place (CDP), which is an area defined by the U.S. Census Bureau for collecting population data.
In 2010, about 480 people lived in Epworth. It sits at an elevation of about 1,703 feet (519 meters) in the northern part of Fannin County. Epworth was once called Atalla. The local ZIP code is 30541. You can find Epworth on Georgia State Route 5, located between Blue Ridge (the county seat) and McCaysville, which is near the Tennessee state line.

History of Epworth
Before Europeans arrived, the land where Epworth is now was home to the Cherokee people. They and other Indigenous groups lived here for thousands of years.
A post office opened in Epworth in 1901. The Georgia General Assembly officially made it a "Town of Epworth" in 1906. The community got its name from a place called Epworth in England.

Education in Epworth
Epworth once had a campus of Appalachian Technical College. This campus later closed. However, there were plans for it to reopen as a campus of North Georgia Technical College.
