Erika Eleniak (born September 29, 1969) is an American-Canadian actress and model. She is well-known for her role as Shauni McClain in the popular TV show Baywatch. Her first movie role was in the classic film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982). She also starred in movies like The Blob (1988), Under Siege (1992), and The Beverly Hillbillies (1993).

Erika Eleniak was born in Glendale, California, in the United States. Her father, Dale Alan Eleniak, has Ukrainian family roots. Her mother, Iris Maya (Neggo) Arnold, has Estonian and German family roots. Erika's great-grandfather, Wasyl Eleniak, was one of the first Ukrainian immigrants to settle in Canada.

Erika's Acting Career

Erika Eleniak started acting at a young age. Her first movie role was when she was just 12 years old.

First Movie Role

In 1982, she appeared in the famous movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. She played the girl who was kissed by the character Elliott in a classroom scene. Her young co-star, Henry Thomas, who played Elliott, later said he didn't enjoy filming that scene!

Horror and TV Shows

In 1988, Erika starred as Vicki De Soto in the horror movie The Blob. This movie was a new version of an older film from 1958.

In 1989, she joined the TV series Charles in Charge as Charles's girlfriend, Stephanie Curtis. That same year, she got a big role in the TV show Baywatch. She played Shauni McClain, one of the main characters, from 1989 to 1992. She also appeared in an episode of Full House in 1990, playing Carrie, the high school girlfriend of Jesse (John Stamos).

More Movies and TV

Erika returned to movies in 1992 with Under Siege. In 1993, she had a starring role as Elly May Clampett in the movie version of The Beverly Hillbillies.

She continued to act in many films, including Chasers (1994) with Dennis Hopper, and Girl in the Cadillac (1995). She also played two identical twins in a video game called Panic in the Park in 1995. Erika kept making independent films until 2003.

Later, she appeared on reality TV shows. In 2005, she was on The Real Gilligan's Island. She also took part in the fourth season of VH1's Celebrity Fit Club.

Erika's Personal Life

Erika Eleniak was once engaged to her Baywatch co-star Billy Warlock. He played her boyfriend on the show.

She later married Philip Goglia in 1998, but they divorced after six months. In 2001, after filming a movie called Snowbound in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Erika fell in love with the city. She decided to move there because she found it hard to travel from Los Angeles to Telluride, Colorado. She bought a home in Calgary. She later married Roch Daigle, who worked on the set of Snowbound. Erika Eleniak has one daughter.
