Silver 2015 Beaver Creek Team event

Erin Mielzynski (born May 25, 1990) is a Canadian former alpine ski racer. She competed in the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, which is the top level of international ski racing. Erin was especially good at technical events, particularly slalom.

She was born in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Erin started her World Cup career in November 2009 when she was 19 years old. She went on to compete in three Winter Olympics and six World Championships.

Erin's Big Wins and Achievements

First World Cup Victory

Erin Mielzynski achieved her first World Cup win in March 2012. This happened in a slalom race in Ofterschwang, Germany. It was also her first time finishing in the top ten at a World Cup event.

This victory was very special for Canadian women's skiing. It was the first World Cup win for a Canadian woman in over four years. Before Erin, Emily Brydon won a Super G race in February 2008. Even more impressively, it was the first World Cup win in slalom for a Canadian woman in over 41 years! The last time was when Betsy Clifford won a slalom race in January 1971.

World Championship Medal

Erin also earned a silver medal at the 2015 World Championships in Beaver Creek. This medal was for the team event, where skiers from different countries compete together.

Olympic Appearances

Erin represented Canada at the Winter Olympics three times. She competed in the 2010, 2014, and 2018 Winter Games. In January 2022, she was also named to Canada's team for the 2022 Winter Olympics.

Erin's Retirement

Erin Mielzynski retired from professional ski racing on April 23, 2022. She had a successful career spanning over a decade, with one World Cup win and two podium finishes in slalom. She also had 19 top-ten finishes in World Cup races.
