Eudora is a city located in Chicot County, Arkansas, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,728 people lived there. It is sometimes called the "Catfish Capital of Arkansas."

Eudora's Past

Eudora started as a town focused on cotton and timber. It was a place where cotton was processed (ginning) and wood was cut at sawmills. The town officially became a city on February 8, 1904.

Eudora is in the southern part of Chicot County. A main road, U.S. Route 65, goes through the city. This road connects Eudora to other towns.

Grand Lake is a large body of water near Eudora. It is about 4 miles (6 km) to the southeast. This lake used to be a part of the Mississippi River. The city covers an area of about 3.09 square miles (8.01 km²), and it's all land.

Eudora has even been mentioned in popular culture. In 1970, a musician named Tony Joe White released a song. It was called "They Caught the Devil and Put Him in Jail in Eudora, Arkansas."
