Evan Michael Engram (born September 2, 1994) is a professional football player. He plays as a tight end for the Denver Broncos in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the Broncos, he played for the New York Giants and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Evan played college football at Ole Miss. He was recognized as an All-American in 2016. The New York Giants chose him as the 23rd pick in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft.

Early Life and High School Football
Evan Engram was born on September 2, 1994, in Powder Springs, Georgia. He grew up there and went to Hillgrove High School. At Hillgrove, he was a star player on the high school football team.
After high school, Evan decided to play college football at Ole Miss. He chose Ole Miss over offers from several other universities.
College Football Career
Evan Engram had a fantastic college career at Ole Miss. He played for four years, from 2013 to 2016. During his time there, he became one of the best tight ends in college football.
He caught 162 passes for a total of 2,320 yards. He also scored 15 touchdowns. In his final year, 2016, he caught 65 passes for 926 yards and eight touchdowns. This great performance earned him the Conerly Trophy, which is given to the best college football player in Mississippi. He was also named a first-team All-American.

Professional Football Career
Evan Engram was considered one of the top tight ends in the 2017 NFL Draft. Many experts thought he would be picked in the first or second round.
New York Giants
The New York Giants chose Evan Engram as the 23rd overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft. He was the second tight end picked that year. The Giants hoped he would improve their team's offense.
First Seasons (2017-2019)
Evan started his professional career strong. In his first game, he caught four passes. He scored his first NFL touchdown on September 18, 2017, against the Detroit Lions. He finished his rookie season with 64 catches for 722 yards and six touchdowns. He was even named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.
In 2018, he played 11 games, catching 45 passes for 577 yards and three touchdowns. He missed some games due to injuries.
In 2019, Evan had his first game with over 100 receiving yards. He caught 11 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys. He also caught a 75-yard touchdown pass from rookie quarterback Daniel Jones. He played eight games before a foot injury ended his season.
Later Years with Giants (2020-2021)

In 2020, the Giants decided to keep Evan for another year. He was chosen for his first Pro Bowl, which is a big honor for NFL players. He finished the season with 63 catches for 654 yards and one touchdown.
In 2021, Evan played 15 games. He caught 46 passes for 408 yards and three touchdowns. He was used more for blocking that season.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Joining the Jaguars (2022)
On March 16, 2022, Evan Engram signed a one-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He quickly became an important player for the team. In Week 14, he had an amazing game against the Tennessee Titans, catching 11 passes for a career-high 162 yards and two touchdowns.
He finished the 2022 season with 73 catches for 766 yards and four touchdowns. In the playoffs, he helped the Jaguars win a thrilling game against the Los Angeles Chargers, catching seven passes for 93 yards and a touchdown.
Franchise Tag and New Contract (2023)
In 2023, the Jaguars kept Evan by using the franchise tag. Later, they signed him to a new three-year contract. He had an incredible season, catching 114 passes for 963 yards and four touchdowns. He became one of only a few tight ends in NFL history to catch over 100 passes in a single season. He was also named to the 2024 Pro Bowl Games as an alternate.
Final Season with Jaguars (2024)
Evan's 2024 season was cut short by injuries. He suffered a hamstring injury early in the season and later a torn labrum in Week 14, which ended his year. He played nine games, catching 47 passes for 365 yards and one touchdown. The Jaguars released him on March 6, 2025.
Denver Broncos
On March 13, 2025, Evan Engram signed a two-year contract with the Denver Broncos. He chose the Broncos after also considering the Los Angeles Chargers. He picked jersey number 1, becoming the first tight end to wear that number in the NFL since before the 1973 season.
