Evander Sno's Club Career
Early Football Days
Evander Sno was born in Dordrecht, a city in the Netherlands. He started his football journey in the youth system of AFC Ajax. Later, when he was eighteen, he moved to Feyenoord.
He didn't play any first-team games for Feyenoord. However, he was loaned to NAC Breda for the 2005–06 season. This is where he began to make a name for himself as a promising player.
Playing for Celtic

In 2006, Sno joined Scottish Premier League team Celtic. He moved from Feyenoord in the Netherlands. At that time, many people thought he was one of the most talented young players in the world.
He played his first full game for Celtic in a League Cup match. Celtic won against St Mirren. His manager praised his performance in that game. He also played in his first "Old Firm" derby against Rangers in September 2006. In November 2006, Sno scored his only goal for Celtic against Hibernian.
Sno also played in the Champions League against AC Milan. At the end of the season, he won the Scottish Premier League title with Celtic. They won the title again in the 2007–08 season.
Return to Ajax
In August 2008, Evander Sno went back to AFC Ajax. He signed a contract for three years. In his very first game back, he received a red card. However, the KNVB later decided to remove the red card.
After just one season, he was moved to the reserve team, Jong Ajax. In August 2009, Sno joined English club Bristol City on loan. He played for them for the rest of the 2009–10 season. He scored his first goal for Bristol City in a 3–2 win against Barnsley. After the loan, he returned to Ajax.
Later Career and Retirement
After his contract with Ajax ended, Sno signed with RKC Waalwijk in August 2011. He played well there, and other Dutch teams became interested in him.
In June 2012, he signed a two-year contract with NEC. On 3 April 2013, Sno decided to end his contract with NEC.
On 28 October 2013, Sno signed a new deal with his old club, RKC. After RKC was moved down to the Dutch Eerste Divisie, Sno left the club. He then signed with Belgian team Westerlo in June 2014. However, he only played two matches there. He left Westerlo in December 2014.
In January 2015, Sno signed with Dutch Eredivisie team ADO Den Haag. After another time playing for RKC, he joined an amateur club called DHSC in July 2017. He announced that he was retiring from playing football in 2018.
Health Challenges During His Career
Evander Sno faced some serious health challenges during his football career.
In September 2010, while playing a game for Ajax's reserve team, he had a sudden medical emergency on the field. Paramedics quickly helped him, and he was taken to the hospital. After this, doctors placed a special device inside his body. This device, called a cardiac defibrillator, helps to keep his heart beating normally.
Later, in September 2012, while playing for NEC, he had another medical emergency on the field. Because he already had the defibrillator, he was able to walk off the pitch himself. These events showed his incredible strength and determination to keep playing the sport he loved.
International Football
Evander Sno was born in the Netherlands and has family roots in Suriname. He regularly played for the Dutch Under-21 team.
In October 2006, he was surprisingly called up to the senior Netherlands national football squad. This was for a friendly game against the England national team, but he did not play in that match. In July 2008, he was chosen to be part of the Dutch squad for the Olympic Games in Beijing. In the first game against Nigeria, Sno received a red card.
Becoming a Coach
In January 2019, about six months after he stopped playing football, Evander Sno started a new chapter in his career. He was appointed as an assistant coach for FC Lienden. He worked alongside head coaches Hans van de Haar and Nordin Wooter.
