Evans is a community in Columbia County, Georgia, in the United States. It's known as an unincorporated community, which means it's not officially a city or town with its own government. However, it is a census-designated place (CDP), which is a special area the government uses for counting people.
Evans is a suburb of Augusta and is part of the larger Augusta metropolitan area. In 2020, about 34,536 people lived here. This was a big jump from 29,011 people in 2010 and 17,727 people in 2000.
Evans is the main center for Columbia County's government, even though Appling is the official county seat. Many important county buildings, like the Government Center and Courthouse Annex, are located in Evans.

Geography of Evans
Evans is located in the eastern part of Columbia County. To the northeast, it borders the Savannah River, which is also the state line with South Carolina. To the southeast, you'll find the town of Martinez. Downtown Augusta is about 11 miles (18 km) to the southeast.
The original part of Evans is around North Belair Road (Georgia State Route 383) and Washington Road (Georgia State Route 104). The community stretches west to Gibbs Road and Crawford Creek, and south to Columbia Road (Georgia State Route 232). Most of the developed area is north of Washington Road and extends to Locks Road, reaching Little Kiokee Creek in the west and Stevens Creek Dam on the Savannah River in the east.
The total area of Evans is about 26.6 square miles (68.8 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 25.3 square miles (65.4 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 1.3 square miles (3.3 square kilometers), is water.

Parks and Recreation

Evans Towne Center Park
This park is right in the middle of Evans. It's next to The Plaza development project. It includes the Lady Antebellum Pavilion, which is a place for concerts and events.
Euchee Creek Greenway
The Euchee Creek Greenway is a growing project for biking and walking. As of 2023, two parts of the trail are open.
- The southern part is about two miles long in Grovetown.
- A separate northern part is over five miles long. It goes from the Canterbury Farms neighborhood north to Patriots Park.
Future plans are to make the trail even longer. It will connect further north and east. The goal is to create an off-road path all the way to Savannah Rapids Park. This will use the existing Evans to Locks Multi-Use Trail.
