Evansville is a small town in Natrona County, Wyoming, United States. It is part of the larger Casper, Wyoming area. In 2020, about 2,746 people lived there.
Evansville is also home to the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery, a special place for honoring veterans.

History of Evansville
The town of Evansville was named after a man named W.T. Evans. He was a blacksmith, someone who works with metal to make or repair things.
W.T. Evans moved to the area in 1902. He built a very successful ranch. Between 1918 and 1920, he sold parts of his ranch land. These parts were bought by large oil companies.
Geography and Location
Evansville is located in Wyoming at coordinates 42.857798 degrees north and 106.259102 degrees west.
The United States Census Bureau says the town covers about 3.58 square miles (9.27 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, and a very small part is water.
Environmental Cleanup Efforts
In 2018, a specific area in Evansville that had polluted underground water was partly removed from a special list. This list is called the EPA's National Priorities List. Sites on this list are known as "Superfund" sites, which means they need a lot of cleanup because of harmful substances.
The pollution at this site was caused by industrial activities. Cleanup efforts have been ongoing to make the area safer.
