Fabius is a small village located in Onondaga County, New York, in the United States. In 2020, about 309 people lived there. It is part of the larger Syracuse area. The village is found near the center of the town of Fabius, south of the city of Syracuse.

A Look Back: Fabius History
The area where Fabius is located was once part of the Central New York Military Tract. This was land set aside for soldiers after the American Revolutionary War. The village was first known as "Franklinville."
Fabius officially became an incorporated village in 1880. This means it gained its own local government. The village was named after Quintus Fabius Maximus Verrucosus. He was a famous Roman general and politician known for his careful strategies.
The Fabius Village Historic District is a special part of the village. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. This list includes places important to history.
