Falun Municipality (which is Falu kommun in Swedish) is a local area in central Sweden. It's located in Dalarna County. The main town and administrative center of the municipality is Falun.

Falun is the second largest city in Dalarna County. It was once very famous for its copper mine. This mine was a huge part of the area's history.
