Farina is a small village located in the state of Illinois, United States. It is special because it is the only community in the entire United States named "Farina." In 2020, about 540 people lived there. The village is split between two counties: Fayette and Marion.

Farina's Story
Farina was started a long time ago, in 1867. The village got its name from the word "farina," which is a type of flour or cereal grain. This name was chosen because the area was known for growing a lot of wheat.
Where Farina Is Located
Farina is in Illinois, and part of it stretches into Marion County. A big highway called Interstate 57 goes right through the northwest part of the village. This highway can take you northeast to Effingham (about 26 miles away) or southwest to Salem (about 21 miles away).
Another road, Illinois Route 37, also passes through the center of Farina and runs next to Interstate 57. If you take Illinois Route 185, you can travel northwest about 24 miles to Vandalia, which is the main town for Fayette County.
Land and Water
Farina covers an area of about 1.46 square miles (3.79 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with only a tiny bit being water. The village is located near the beginning of the East Fork of the Kaskaskia River. This river helps drain water away from the village towards the southwest.
