History of Farmington
Farmington was first settled in 1871. The town was officially planned out in 1878. It became an official town in 1888.
At one point, between 1900 and 1930, Farmington had nearly 500 people. However, as farming methods changed and fewer workers were needed, the town's population slowly became smaller. Today, it is a quiet community. The town was originally called Pine Creek before it became Farmington.
