Farson is a small community located in Sweetwater County, Wyoming, in the United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that the government identifies for gathering statistics, but it's not an officially incorporated town or city with its own local government. In 2010, the population of Farson was 313 people.

Farson is located where two important roads meet: U.S. 191 and Wyoming Highway 28. It's about 40 miles north of Rock Springs and 45 miles southwest of South Pass, a famous historical route.

In the year 2000, a census (a count of the population) showed that 242 people lived in Farson. These people lived in 96 households, and 69 of those were families. The population density was about 3.2 people per square mile.
Most of the people in Farson were White (96.28%). A small number were African American (0.83%), from other races (1.65%), or from two or more races (1.24%). About 5.37% of the population identified as Hispanic or Latino.
Out of the 96 households, about 30.2% had children under 18 living there. Most households (64.6%) were married couples living together. About 26% of all households were individuals living alone. The average household had 2.52 people, and the average family had 3.01 people.
The population in Farson was spread out by age. About 23.6% were under 18 years old. The largest group, 31.8%, was between 45 and 64 years old. The median age (the middle age of the population) was 40 years.
Learning in Farson: Schools and Library
Public education for the children of Farson is provided by Sweetwater County School District #1. The main school serving the community is Farson-Eden School. This school teaches students from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade.
Most of the students at Farson-Eden School live in Farson or a nearby area called Eden. However, there's also a bus that brings students from Rock Springs to attend school here.
Farson also has a public library. It's a part of the Sweetwater County Library System, offering books and resources for everyone in the community.
