Fazura was born in Pekan, a town in the state of Pahang, Malaysia. She is the third of four children and has three brothers.

In 2014, she returned to movies with the horror-comedy Kami Histeria and the drama Manisnya Cinta Di Cappadocia. Her role in Manisnya Cinta Di Cappadocia won her the Best Actress award at the 27th Malaysia Film Festival. That same year, she released her first song, "Sayangi Dirimu," and starred in her own reality TV show, Facing Up to Fazura.
