Early Life and Music Start
Taelor Deitcher, or Felix Cartal, went to New Westminster Secondary School in British Columbia. In school, he played bass guitar in a punk band called Dysfunctional. They were inspired by bands like Refused and NOFX. The band played shows and built up a small group of fans.
Later, the band changed its style to a more progressive sound and renamed itself Orange Orange. This group broke up in 2006. After that, Felix Cartal started trying out music production software. He was inspired by local DJs and club nights. He realized that the energy in the punk scene was similar to the EDM scene. This made him want to get involved in electronic music.
Felix Cartal also studied English at the University of British Columbia. He spent a semester studying in Scotland at the University of Glasgow.
