Fene is a small town in northwestern Spain. It is located in the province of A Coruña. This area is part of Galicia, which is an autonomous community. Fene sits on the Ria of Ferrol, which is like a long, narrow bay.

Fene is a municipality, which means it is a local government area. It has its own Mayor, Juventino Trigo Rey. He is part of the BNG, which stands for Galician Nationalist Bloc. This is a political group in Galicia.
Economy and Work
The main work in Fene is connected to the sea. The Navantia Shipyards are very important here. Shipyards are places where ships are built and repaired. These shipyards are close to the city of Ferrol.
In other parts of Fene, people work in farming and agriculture. This means they grow crops and raise animals. Fishing is also a traditional job for many people.
Famous Gantry Crane
In the 1960s, the shipyards in this area were very famous. They had a huge gantry crane. A gantry crane is a very large machine used to lift heavy things. The one at Astilleros y Talleres del Noroeste (ASTANO) was the biggest in Europe at that time! It helped build very large ships.
