Early Life and Family

Fernanda Andrade was born in São José dos Campos, a city in São Paulo state, Brazil. She grew up in another Brazilian city called Campinas. Her family has a mix of backgrounds. Her mother's family came from Italy and Spain. Her father's family had roots in Portugal, Spain, and also from Native Brazilian people.

When Fernanda was 11 years old, her family moved to Florida in the United States. Her father, who was an engineer, got a permanent job there. Moving was a bit tough at first because only her father spoke English. But they soon settled into their new home.

Fernanda's Acting Journey

Starting in Show Business

Fernanda became very interested in acting and movies when she was in high school. She got her first professional acting job at just 15 years old. This was in the year 2000, in an HBO movie called For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story. In this movie, she played Paloma, the daughter-in-law of a famous Cuban jazz musician named Arturo Sandoval.

Moving to Los Angeles

Later, Fernanda moved from Florida to Los Angeles, California. This happened when her agent also moved to that area. Los Angeles is a big center for movies and TV shows. During the 2000s and 2010s, she appeared in many short films and TV series. She had guest roles in popular shows like CSI: NY and Law & Order: Los Angeles. In 2006, she was in a miniseries called Fallen on the ABC Family channel.

In 2011, she had a recurring role in the fourth season of the TV show Sons of Anarchy.

Big Break with The Devil Inside

Fernanda became much more well-known after her horror movie The Devil Inside came out in 2012. She starred in this film with actors like Simon Quarterman and Suzan Crowley. Personal Life

Fernanda is very good at languages. She can speak Portuguese, Spanish, and English fluently.

In August 2017, Fernanda married musician Josh James. He is from the band Stick to Your Guns. Their wedding ceremony took place in Pala, California. Fernanda and Josh now live in Los Angeles.

During the time when many people were staying home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Fernanda and her husband started a punk hardcore band. They called their band Sorry Fern. They recorded an EP (a short music album) at their home. Fernanda even recorded her singing parts in their bathtub! They made 250 special cassette tapes of their music. All the money from selling these tapes went to help different Los Angeles mutual aid groups. These groups help people in their community.
