Where is Fishers Landing?
Fishers Landing is in the northern part of the town of Orleans. It sits right on the southern bank of the St. Lawrence River. This is where the river narrows into a channel called the American Narrows. This channel separates the mainland from Wellesley Island.
Many people who own islands or visit them use a local marina here. They park their cars and boats before traveling to the islands. A cool place nearby is the Rock Island Light. This is a New York state park with a lighthouse. It's about half a mile out in the channel from Fishers Landing.

New York State Route 12 runs along the edge of Fishers Landing. This road can take you to other towns. If you go northeast, you'll reach Interstate 81 in about 2 miles. Alexandria Bay is about 6 miles away in that direction.
If you head southwest on Route 12, you'll get to Clayton in about 5 miles. Another road, New York State Route 180, crosses Route 12 at Fishers Landing. This road goes south for about 6 miles to La Fargeville. The city of Watertown, which is the main city in Jefferson County, is about 25 miles to the south.
