Florence Kasumba (born October 26, 1976) is a talented actress from Uganda and Germany. She is famous for playing Ayo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. These include Captain America: Civil War (2016), Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022). She also appeared as Ayo in the Disney+ show The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021).
Florence Kasumba is also well-known for her roles in German and Dutch films. She played Senator Acantha in Wonder Woman (2017). She was the voice of Shenzi in The Lion King (2019). Plus, she played the Wicked Witch of the East in the TV series Emerald City (2017).

Early Life and Inspiration
Florence Kasumba was born in Kampala, Uganda, on October 26, 1976. She grew up in Essen, Germany, where she went to school. When she was 12, she saw the musical Starlight Express. This show made her want to become a performer herself.
She studied acting, singing, and dancing at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Tilburg, the Netherlands. Florence speaks German, English, and Dutch very well. Today, she lives in Berlin, Germany.
Acting Career Highlights
While still in college, Florence Kasumba got her first movie role. She played Silke in the Dutch film Ik ook van jou. After finishing her studies, she performed in many popular musicals. Some of these include Chicago, The Lion King, Cats, and Beauty and the Beast.

She played the character Ayo again in later Marvel projects. Ayo is a member of the Dora Milaje. This is an all-female fighting group from Wakanda.
