All About Florrie
Her Early Life and Music Journey
Florrie was born Florence Arnold in Bristol, England. She became interested in playing the drums when she was only six years old. As a teenager, she started her own band called Fi Fi Saloon. They played songs by Avril Lavigne and their own "girl rock-pop" songs.
When she was 17, Florrie moved to London. She played with different bands and worked as a nanny. She later joined Xenomania, a well-known music production team, as their drummer. Her first big job was playing drums for Girls Aloud's song "The Promise" in 2008.
Florrie also played drums for other famous artists. These included Alesha Dixon, Kylie Minogue, Pet Shop Boys, and The Saturdays. She also helped write songs for groups like Mini Viva and Girls Aloud. One of the producers at Xenomania encouraged her to sing her own songs. This led her to start her own music career.
Making Music on Her Own

In 2010, Florrie released a remixed song called "Call 911". It was downloaded over 1,000 times in just a few days! Around this time, she also became the face of a perfume brand, Nina Ricci. She sang a cover of Blondie's "Sunday Girl" for their TV ad.
Florrie released her first EP, Introduction, in November 2010. She made it available for free download on her website. Many music blogs praised her music and her idea of giving songs away for free. Florrie believed this helped fans feel more connected to her music.
She released her second EP, Experiments, in 2011. The music video for one of its songs, "I Took a Little Something", was made with the fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana. Her third EP, Late, came out in 2012.
Working with a Big Record Label
In 2012, Florrie announced she would sign with a major record label. This label was later known to be Sony Music. This meant Late was her last release as an independent artist for a while.
In 2013, Florrie was featured in a commercial for Sony headphones. The ad used her song "Live a Little". She released her fourth EP, Sirens, in 2014. Her song "Too Young to Remember" was used in a worldwide campaign for the fashion retailer H&M.
Florrie had planned to release her first full album in 2015. However, she and Sony Music had different ideas about her music. Because of these creative differences, they decided to part ways. This meant her album with Sony was not released.
Back to Being Independent
In 2019, Florrie returned to making music on her own. She released a new song called "Borderline". She also joined a group called Capulets. She continued to release new singles, and many of them were included in her 2023 compilation album, Personal.
With the release of Personal, Florrie announced that her long-awaited debut album would finally come out in 2024. Her first album, The Lost Ones, was released in June 2024. In August 2024, she released a new single called "Swimming Pool".
What Kind of Music Does Florrie Make?
Florrie describes her music as a mix of old and new sounds. She says it has a "sixties, organic feel merged with modern pop beats and electronics." She grew up listening to The Beatles, but she also loves electronic music. She enjoys making upbeat songs that make people want to dance.
Music critics have described her pop music as "playful" and "rhythm-focused." This is likely because of her background as a drummer for the Xenomania production team.
