Flávia Lopes Saraiva (born September 30, 1999) is a famous artistic gymnast from Brazil. She has represented her country in many big competitions. These include the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics and the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, and Paris. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, she helped the Brazilian team win a bronze medal.

Flávia also helped her team win a silver medal at the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She won gold at the 2018 South American Games. She also earned bronze medals at the 2015 and 2019 Pan American Games. Individually, she was the champion in floor exercise at the 2014 Youth Olympics. She also won a bronze medal in floor exercise at the 2023 World Championships. Flávia has won many medals at the Pan American Games, South American Games, and Pan American Championships.

Junior Career Highlights

Starting Out in 2013

Flávia Saraiva's first international competition was the Houston National Invitational. She finished 10th in the all-around. In December, she competed at the 2013 Gymnasiade in Brazil. She won gold medals in floor exercise and balance beam. Her team also won a silver medal.

Success in 2014

Flávia started 2014 at the WOGA Classic in Plano, Texas. She won first place on balance beam. She also placed second with her team. In March, she competed at the Junior Pan American Championships. This competition helped gymnasts qualify for the Youth Olympic Games.

Flávia did very well there. She won first place in the all-around and on floor exercise. Her team took second place. She also earned third place on uneven bars and balance beam. Road to Tokyo: 2019-2021

In 2019, Flávia helped Brazil win gold at the DTB Team Challenge in Stuttgart, Germany. She placed second in the all-around at the Brazilian Championships. She also won gold on balance beam.

In July, Flávia competed at the Pan American Games. Her team won a bronze medal. Individually, Flávia won bronze medals in the all-around and on floor exercise.

In October, Flávia competed at the 2019 World Championships. Brazil's team did not qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games. However, Flávia qualified as an individual for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She finished seventh in the all-around final. She also placed sixth on balance beam and fourth on floor exercise.

At the World Championships, Flávia suffered another ankle injury. She withdrew from her individual finals.

In September 2023, Flávia won a bronze medal on balance beam at the Paris World Challenge Cup. She then competed at the World Championships. Her team won a silver medal, which was Brazil's first team medal in World Championship history. Individually, Flávia won a bronze medal in the floor final. After the World Championships, Flávia competed at the Pan American Games. Her team won silver. She also won individual silver medals in the all-around, balance beam, and floor exercise. Flávia started 2024 by winning silver on balance beam at the Antalya World Challenge Cup. She then won gold on balance beam and floor exercise at the City of Jesolo Trophy. During warm-ups for the team final, Flávia had a fall and injured her eye and knee. Even with a bandaged eye, she competed on all four events. She helped Brazil win the bronze medal, which was Brazil's first ever Olympic team medal in gymnastics! She then placed ninth in the all-around final.
