Fair Play Points

Fair play points were used to help decide rankings if teams had the same number of points and goals. These points were given based on yellow and red cards received during the group matches:

  • If a player got a first yellow card, their team lost 1 point.
  • If a player got a second yellow card (which means an indirect red card), their team lost 3 points.
  • If a player got a direct red card, their team lost 4 points.
  • If a player got a yellow card and then a direct red card in the same game, their team lost 5 points.

Only one type of point deduction was applied per player per match.
