Forcett is a mostly countryside area, but it also has a small town part near Lewisham. It's located in the South-east part of Tasmania, managed by the Sorell local government. Forcett is about 10 kilometers (6 miles) south-east of the town of Sorell. In 2016, a count showed that 964 people lived in Forcett.

A Look Back: Forcett's History
Forcett officially became a recognized place in 1972. One of the first people to settle here was James Gordon. He was born in 1779 in a place also called Forcett, but that one is in Yorkshire, England!

Most of Forcett's borders are straight lines drawn on a map. These are called survey lines. Part of the western edge of Forcett touches the water of the Pitt Water Estuary. An estuary is where a river meets the sea, mixing fresh and salt water.

The main road is the A9 route, also known as the Arthur Highway. It comes into Forcett from the north-west and goes all the way through to the east.

- Route C334 (Old Forcett Road) also starts at the A9 but goes south.
