Fort Totten State Historic Site
This historic site is a fort that was built a long time ago by the United States Army. It was built after the American Civil War to help protect settlers in the area. It was also used as the main office for the Devil's Lake Indian Agency, which was the original name for the Spirit Lake Reservation.
Later, the fort became an Indian boarding school. These schools were run by the government to educate Native American children. Today, the fort is a preserved historic site. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which means it's an important historical place. You can even find a bed and breakfast and a community theater there now!

This is a National Wildlife Refuge. It was created by President Theodore Roosevelt. It's a special area where wild animals are protected and can live freely.
