Foxear Lake is a lovely lake found in the Thunder Bay District of Ontario, Canada. It is located in the northwestern part of the province, near the town of Greenstone. This lake is an important part of the Great Lakes Basin, which is a huge area where water flows into the Great Lakes.

About Foxear Lake

Foxear Lake is about 2 km (1.2 mi) long and .5 km (0.3 mi) wide. It sits at an elevation of 326 metres (1,070 ft) above sea level. The lake is known for being the starting point of Foxear Creek, a stream that carries water away from the lake.

Where Does the Water Go?

Water flows into Foxear Lake from an unnamed creek located on its northwest side. The main way water leaves the lake is through Foxear Creek, which starts on the west side of the lake. This creek then flows into the Namewaminikan River.

Journey to Lake Superior

From the Namewaminikan River, the water continues its journey to Lake Nipigon. After that, it travels through the Nipigon River and finally reaches Lake Superior. This means that the water from Foxear Lake eventually becomes part of one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world!

Finding Foxear Lake

Foxear Lake is situated in an area known as the geographic township of Walters. If you are looking for it, Ontario Highway 801 passes about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) to the west of the lake. This helps people locate the general area where Foxear Lake is found.
