François Cluzet (born on September 21, 1955) is a famous French actor who has starred in many films and plays. He has worked with well-known directors from Europe and America.

Early Life and First Roles
François Cluzet grew up in Paris, France. He started acting on stage in 1976. Just three years later, he appeared in his first big movie, Cocktail Molotov, with Diane Kurys.
The next year, he acted in the family drama Cheval d'orgueil, directed by Claude Chabrol. He worked with Claude Chabrol again in 1982 for Les Fantômes du chapelier.
In 1983, Cluzet was in L'Été meurtrier with Jean Becker. He was nominated for a César Award for best supporting actor that year. He was also recognized as a promising new male actor for the film Vive la sociale.
Working with Famous Directors
François Cluzet has worked with many important French directors who often made serious and dramatic films. He reunited with Diane Kurys for Coup de foudre in 1983.

Cluzet has often played characters who are troubled writers, such as in Fin août, début septembre (1998) and Je suis un assassin (2004). He played a character similar to John Lennon in Janis et John (2003). In 2005, he acted in Le Domaine perdu, a film about the 1973 events in Chile.

A big moment in his career came in 2006 with his main role in the thriller Tell No One. He played a doctor who was suspected of a serious crime. For this performance, he won the César Award for best actor in 2007.
Cluzet's most famous role is in The Intouchables (2011). This movie is based on a true story about the friendship between a wealthy man who cannot move his body (played by Cluzet) and his young caregiver who had just been released from prison. In March 2012, The Intouchables became the second highest-grossing French film ever in France.

François Cluzet was married to film producer Chantal Perrin in the 1980s, and they later divorced. He has a son named Paul with the late actress Marie Trintignant.
In 1994, he lived with Chiara Mastroianni. He also had a long-term relationship with actress Valérie Bonneton, and they have two children together. In 2011, he married Narjiss Slaoui-Falcoz.
