François Cluzet (born on September 21, 1955) is a famous French actor who has starred in many films and plays. He has worked with well-known directors from Europe and America.

François Cluzet is especially famous for his role as Philippe in the movie The Intouchables (2011). He also won a French César Award in 2007 for his role in the thriller Tell No One.

Early Life and First Roles

François Cluzet grew up in Paris, France. He started acting on stage in 1976. Just three years later, he appeared in his first big movie, Cocktail Molotov, with Diane Kurys.

The next year, he acted in the family drama Cheval d'orgueil, directed by Claude Chabrol. He worked with Claude Chabrol again in 1982 for Les Fantômes du chapelier.

In 1983, Cluzet was in L'Été meurtrier with Jean Becker. He was nominated for a César Award for best supporting actor that year. He was also recognized as a promising new male actor for the film Vive la sociale.

Working with Famous Directors

François Cluzet has worked with many important French directors who often made serious and dramatic films. He reunited with Diane Kurys for Coup de foudre in 1983.

Cluzet's most famous role is in The Intouchables (2011). François Cluzet was married to film producer Chantal Perrin in the 1980s, and they later divorced. He has a son named Paul with the late actress Marie Trintignant.
