Francis Pollet was born on May 5, 1964, in Roubaix, France. He is a French professor and a high-ranking military officer, known as a General. From March 2017 until June 30, 2022, he was the head of the Institut polytechnique des sciences avancées, which is a private French university focused on aerospace.

Francis Pollet's Life Story
Francis Pollet graduated from the École de l'air in 1985. This is a famous French air force academy. He began his career as a fighter pilot and also flew large cargo planes. During this time, he completed more than 100 missions.
Flying for French Leaders
Later, Francis Pollet became a pilot for the French government. He had the important job of flying top leaders. He flew the Prime Minister Lionel Jospin and the President Jacques Chirac. He piloted special planes like the Dassault Falcon 900 and the Airbus Corporate Jet for them.
Career in Leadership and Advice
After his time as a pilot, he spent 15 years working in human resources and managing operations. He also served as an aviation advisor for four different Ministers of Defense in France. These ministers included Hervé Morin, Alain Juppé, Gérard Longuet, and Jean-Yves Le Drian.
Leading Aerospace Education
On September 1, 2003, Francis Pollet was named the director-general of the École de l'air. While in this role, he helped the school become more modern by bringing in digital learning. He even created a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) for air defense.
In March 2017, he became the CEO of the Institut Polytechnique des Sciences Avancées. This is a well-known French engineering school for aeronautics and space. He left this position on June 30, 2022. After he left, Valérie Cornetet took over as the new CEO of the college. Francis Pollet holds the rank of General officer.
