Frank Buxton (born February 13, 1930 – died January 2, 2018) was a talented American actor, writer, and director. He grew up in Larchmont, New York. Frank went to Northwestern University and Syracuse University. He also served in the U.S. Army in Korea.

Frank Buxton's Career Highlights

Frank Buxton started acting in summer theater when he was just 19 years old. He even worked with the famous actor Buster Keaton. Later, he worked as a producer and director at TV stations in Chicago and Buffalo.

From Behind the Scenes to On-Screen

Frank soon decided to perform himself. He became a stand-up comedian, telling jokes and stories on stage across the country. He also toured Australia for a year, acting in the musical Bye Bye Birdie.

His first big TV job was hosting and producing Discovery. This was a documentary series on ABC from 1962 to 1966. He also did all the voices for a fun record called "Silly Record" in 1962.

Voice Acting and Writing

In 1966, Frank Buxton became the voice of the main character in the animated cartoon series Batfink. He voiced Batfink in all 100 episodes! He also voiced the villain, Hugo A-Go-Go.

Frank was also a writer. He wrote two books about the early days of radio with Bill Owen. These books were called The Big Broadcast and The Golden Age. Frank also hosted a game show called Get the Message in 1964.
