Frank Stephenson Dillane is a British actor born on April 21, 1991. He is well-known for playing Nick Clark in the TV series Fear the Walking Dead from 2015 to 2018. He also played a young Tom Riddle in the movie Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in 2009. Frank Dillane has appeared in other films like In the Heart of the Sea and the TV series The Essex Serpent.

Early Life and Family Background
Frank Dillane was born in London, England. His father, Stephen Dillane, is also an actor. His mother, Naomi Wirthner, is British and has Jamaican heritage. She runs a theatre company called The Barebones Project. Frank spent some of his childhood in Brixton before his family moved to Forest Row in East Sussex.
After finishing his A-level exams, Frank Dillane was accepted into the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). He graduated from RADA in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in acting.
Acting Career Highlights
Frank Dillane has worked in movies, on stage, and on television. He first appeared in a film when he was six years old, as an extra in Welcome to Sarajevo (1997), alongside his father. He became more widely recognized when he played the teenage version of Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in 2009.
In 2011, Dillane played James Papadopoulos in the independent movie Papadopoulos & Sons. His father, Stephen Dillane, changed his own filming schedule to play Harry Papadopoulos, James's dad, in the movie. His father said it was a special chance to work with his son.

In July 2013, Frank Dillane performed in a play called Candida at the Theatre Royal in Bath. In 2014, he played Keyes in the movie Viena and the Fantomes, which also starred Dakota Fanning.
Dillane took on the main role of Nick Clark in the horror drama series Fear the Walking Dead. He was a popular character on the show from its start in 2015 until its fourth season in 2018. In 2016, he was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Younger Actor in a Television Series for his work on Fear the Walking Dead.
He also played Henry Coffin in the adventure-drama film In the Heart of the Sea (2015). This movie, directed by Ron Howard, tells the story of the American whaling ship Essex that sank in 1820. This event inspired the famous novel Moby-Dick.
Dillane also appeared as Shugs in the Netflix series Sense8, which was directed by the Wachowskis. In 2019, he acted alongside Beanie Feldstein and Alfie Allen in the movie How to Build a Girl. More recently, in 2024, Dillane starred in the ITV drama Joan as Boisie Hannington, acting with Sophie Turner.
