Meredith: A Historic Spot
Meredith is a small, unincorporated community. It's located on the eastern edge of Franklin Township. This area borders Sherman Township in Gladwin County.
Long ago, in the late 1800s, Meredith was a very busy place. It was a time when the lumber industry was booming. As many as 1,800 people lived there during that period. A post office even operated in Meredith from 1884 to 1895.
