He is best known for his time in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played for teams like the Los Angeles Kings, Atlanta Thrashers, and the Carolina Hurricanes.

Playing Career Highlights

František Kaberle was chosen by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. He was the 76th player picked overall. Later, during the 1999–2000 season, he was traded to the Atlanta Thrashers. He scored his first NHL goal for the Thrashers on April 8, 2000.

After the 2004–05 NHL season was cancelled due to a player lockout, Kaberle joined the Carolina Hurricanes. This was a big move for his career.

Winning the Stanley Cup

One of Kaberle's biggest achievements was in the 2006 Stanley Cup Finals. He scored a special goal in Game 7 against the Edmonton Oilers. This goal, scored during a power play, ended up being the winning goal. It helped the Carolina Hurricanes win the Stanley Cup! This was the only Stanley Cup championship of his career.

Later Career in the NHL and Czech Republic

After winning the Stanley Cup, Kaberle faced a challenge. He hurt his shoulder before the 2006–07 season began. He had to miss some games because of this injury. But he came back strong on February 6, 2007, and even scored the winning goal that night.

He played four seasons with the Hurricanes. In 2009, his contract with the team ended. After his time in North America, he went back to his home country, the Czech Republic. He rejoined his first team, HC Kladno. He played two more seasons in the Czech Extraliga, which is the top league in the Czech Republic. He played for HC Pardubice and HC Plzeň before he retired in 2012.
