Fred Graves was born on March 2, 1950. He is a well-known American football coach. He mostly coached wide receivers in the National Football League (NFL). He worked for several famous NFL teams. Playing Football in College
Fred Graves played football at the University of Utah. He was a running back and a wide receiver. He played for the team from 1969 to 1971. In his final year, he was a senior. He caught 45 passes, which was the most on his team.
Fred Graves' Coaching Journey
Fred Graves started his coaching career in 1975. His first job was at Northeast Missouri State. There, he coached wide receivers and tight ends. He stayed there for two years.
Coaching at Universities
After Northeast Missouri State, he coached at other universities. He worked at Western Illinois University. He also coached at New Mexico State University. At both schools, he coached wide receivers and tight ends.

Coaching in the NFL

From 2007 to 2010, he coached wide receivers for the Tennessee Titans. He worked with head coach Jeff Fisher there. In 2011, he became the wide receivers coach for the Carolina Panthers. He worked under new coach Ron Rivera.
In 2013, Graves joined the San Diego Chargers. He was the wide receivers coach there. He worked with head coach Mike McCoy. He continued with the Chargers until 2016.
