Freya Mavor is a Scottish actress born on August 13, 1993. She is well-known for playing Mini McGuinness in the teen TV show Skins. She also starred as Daria Greenock in the HBO series Industry.

Growing Up in Scotland and France
Freya Mavor was born in Glasgow, Scotland. She grew up in Edinburgh. Her father, James Mavor, is a playwright, which means he writes plays. He teaches screenwriting at Napier University.
Freya's family has a strong connection to the arts. Her great-grandfather, James Bridie, helped create a drama college in Scotland. This college later became the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Early Interest in Acting
Freya became interested in acting when she was ten years old. She watched the movie The Shining and was inspired.
For a while, Freya lived in La Rochelle, France. She went to school there. She also studied at Mary Erskine School in Edinburgh. Since 2008, she has been a member of the National Youth Theatre.
Freya's first acting experiences were in school plays. She performed in Shakespeare's The Tempest and The Merchant of Venice.
Freya Mavor's Acting Career
In 2011, Freya Mavor started her professional acting career. She played Mini McGuinness in the TV show Skins on E4. She described her character as "feisty and witty." For this role, she was nominated for Best Actress at the TV Choice Awards in 2012.
Freya also became a fashion icon. She was the face of Pringle of Scotland's fashion campaign in 2011. She won the Fashion Icon of the Year Award at the Scottish Fashion Awards that same year. In 2013, Screen International magazine named her one of the UK Stars of Tomorrow.
Film Roles
In 2013, Freya starred in the romantic comedy Not Another Happy Ending. She played Nicola Ball. The film is about a writer who can't write and her publisher trying to help her.
The same year, she appeared in Sunshine on Leith. This movie was based on a musical with songs by The Proclaimers.
Freya has also acted in several French-language films. In 2015, she was in the mystery film The Lady in the Car with Glasses and a Gun. She then had roles in Ils sont partout (2016) and Cézanne et moi (2016).
More recently, Freya appeared in The Sense of an Ending (2017). She also had a leading role in the romance film Modern Life Is Rubbish (2017). In 2018, she was in the black comedy Dead in a Week: Or Your Money Back.
Television and Stage Work
On television, Freya played Princess Elizabeth of York in the 2013 historical drama The White Queen for BBC One. Later that year, she acted in the play Boys in London.
Freya also appeared in the Channel 4 historical miniseries New Worlds. She played a character named Beth Fanshawe. In 2014, she was in a French TV show called Casting(s).
In 2018, Freya joined John Malkovich in The ABC Murders. This was a BBC One miniseries based on a mystery novel by Agatha Christie.
In 2023, Freya Mavor directed her first film, an anthology called Kinked.
