Fuku Suzuki's Acting Career

Early Roles and Big Breaks
Fuku Suzuki first appeared on TV in 2006 on the NHK preschool show Inai Inai Baa!. He then had small parts in other shows, often playing younger versions of the main characters. For example, he was in the police drama "Keikan no Chi" (2009) and the TV series "GeGeGe no Nyōbō" (2010).
In 2010, he got a more important role in the film "A Boy and His Samurai". He played Tomoya Yusa, the son of the main character.
Becoming a Star in Marumo no Okite
In 2011, Fuku landed a major role as Tomoki Sasakura in the Fuji TV drama Marumo no Okite. At first, not many people watched the show. But by the end, it became super popular! The final episode was one of the most-watched dramas of the year.
Many people believe that Fuku and his co-star, Mana Ashida, made the show a huge success. They even sang the theme song, "Maru Maru Mori Mori!", which became a top hit. Because of how popular they were, a special TV show was made just for them after the drama ended. The show's success led to more special episodes later on.
Playing Bero in Yōkai Ningen Bem
In 2011, Fuku played a supernatural character named Bero in the TV drama Yōkai Ningen Bem. His acting in this role was so good that he won the Supporting Actor Award at the 15th Nikkan Sports⋅Drama Grand Prix. He was the youngest person ever to win this award, and the first child actor! People said he did a great job by acting like the animated version of Bero.
Voice Acting and Hosting
In March 2012, Fuku became a guest voice actor in the animated Doraemon movie, "Doraemon: Nobita and the Island of Miracles—Animal Adventure". He voiced a character named "Fūku," who was based on himself! Fuku was very surprised and happy to get this role, making him the youngest voice actor in a Doraemon movie.
His connection with Doraemon grew when he and his sister, Yume, became regular hosts for a special section on the TV show called "A Box Project, 100 years After the Start of Doraemon." They appeared once a month as "Navigators."
Fuku also became a TV presenter for the children's show "be Ponkikkīzu" in April 2012, along with his friend Kanon Tani. They were the first child presenters in the show's 39-year history!
Leading Kodomo Keisatsu
In April 2012, Fuku took on the main role in the TV drama Kodomo Keisatsu (which means "Child Police"). He played Shigeru Ōnuma, a 50-year-old police chief who, along with his team, turned back into a child!
Even though some people were surprised to see child actors in a late-night show, it was very popular. The show's success led to a movie of the same name in March 2013. Fuku's role as the lead character helped keep the series popular.
Other TV Shows and Movies
In late 2013, Fuku was in the drama Otto no Kanojo (meaning "The Husband's Lover"). He played Masato Komatsubara, one of two children in a family.
Fuku also appeared in the 2014 film "Akumu-chan the movie," playing the same character, Ryū Uehara, that he had played in a TV episode. He was also in another 2014 film called "Bara Iro no Būko."
Other TV Appearances
Variety and Quiz Shows
Fuku was a regular on the variety show Waratte Iitomo starting in April 2012. He was a "holiday regular," meaning he appeared during school and national holidays. He was excited to meet many different people on the show.
In 2013, Fuku even went to France for a TV show with Junji Takada. They explored The Louvre museum from a child's point of view. Fuku has also been a guest on other variety and quiz shows like "Takarasagashi Adventure Nazo-toki Battle Tore!" and "Downtown DX."

In 2012, he was in a Toyota car ad with his sister. He also appeared in an ad for a wedding magazine with Tetsuko Kuroyanagi. Fuku has also done solo ads for a life insurance company and a banana brand. He continues to appear in ads for various companies like Asahi Soft Drinks and Benesse.
Fuku Suzuki's Music Career
In May 2011, Fuku started his music career! He and Mana Ashida formed a group called "Kaoru to Tomoki, Tamani Mook." They released the theme song for Marumo no Okite, "Maru Maru Mori Mori!" as a single.
This song was a huge success! It reached number 3 on the Oricon weekly chart in its first week. This made them the youngest group to reach the top ten. The song stayed popular for many weeks and won a Special Award at the 53rd Japan Record Awards. Fuku and Mana even performed the song on the famous music show Kōhaku Uta Gassen.
After this big success, Fuku released his first solo song called "Iya, Iya YO~!!" in December 2012. While it wasn't as big as "Maru Maru Mori Mori!", it still reached number 32 on the Oricon chart.
In 2013, Fuku teamed up with his "be Ponkikkīzu" co-presenter Kanon Tani to form the group "Fuku to Kanon." They released a song called "Neko Nyan-nyan-nyan Inu Wan-wan-wan Kaeru mo Ahiru mo Gā-gā-gā."
In September 2014, a new version of "Maru Maru Mori Mori!" was released to go along with a special broadcast of Marumo no Okite.
