Fullerton is a small city in Dickey County, North Dakota, United States. In 2020, about 62 people lived there. Fullerton is known for the Carroll House Hotel, a very old building listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

History of Fullerton

The city of Fullerton was named after Edward Philo Fuller. He was a lawyer from Grand Rapids, Michigan. In the 1880s, Edward Fuller invested a lot of money in land in Dickey County.

His daughter, Sofia Sweet, and her husband, Edwin Forrest Sweet, also helped. Edwin Sweet was the mayor of Grand Rapids. Their ranch, called Sweet Ranch, was located near where Fullerton would later be built.

In 1887, the first maps for Fullerton were made. The Soo Line Railroad was also finished through the town that same year. A post office opened in Fullerton in 1888. It stayed open for over 100 years, until 1989.
