History of Fulton
How Fulton Got Its Name
The town of Fulton was officially started in 1887. There are a couple of ideas about how it got its name. Some people think it was named after Robert Fulton. He was a famous inventor who created the first successful steamboat.
Others believe the town was named after someone who worked for the railroad. A post office has been open in Fulton since 1887, serving the community for many years.
