Ganti Mohana Chandra Balayogi (born October 1, 1951 – died March 3, 2002) was an Indian lawyer and a very important politician. He served as the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, which is like the leader of one of India's main government groups, from 1998 to 2002.
He studied law and earned his degree from Andhra University in Visakhapatnam.

Balayogi's Political Journey
Early Steps in Politics
Balayogi started his political career in 1991. He was elected to the 10th Lok Sabha, which is the lower house of India's Parliament. He represented the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
He lost his seat in the 1996 elections. But he kept working hard in his community. Soon after, he was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. This was in a special election for the Mummidivaram Assembly area. At the same time, he became the Minister of Higher Education for the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Becoming Speaker of Lok Sabha
In 1998, Balayogi was elected to Parliament again. This time, he achieved a very high position. He became the 12th Speaker of the Lok Sabha on March 24, 1998. He was re-elected for the 13th Lok Sabha on October 22, 1999.
As Speaker, Balayogi had many important duties. He led several Indian Parliamentary groups to other countries. He also welcomed leaders from other nations who visited India.
His Passing
On March 3, 2002, G.M.C. Balayogi sadly passed away. He was 50 years old. His death happened in a helicopter crash in Kaikalur, Andhra Pradesh.
A sports stadium, the G.M.C. Balayogi Athletic Stadium, was named in his memory.
