Sega Game Gear facts for kids
The Sega Game Gear was a cool handheld video game system made by a company called Sega. It first came out in Japan in 1990. Later, it was released in other places like the United States, Europe, and Australia.
The Game Gear was special because it had a color screen, which was pretty new for handheld systems back then. It also had its own speaker so you could hear the game sounds. To play it, you needed six AA batteries. These batteries would usually last for about four hours of playtime.
Compared to the Nintendo Game Boy, the Game Gear was bigger and cost more money. It also used more battery power, so you had to change its batteries more often than with the Game Boy.
Cool Features and Add-ons
The Game Gear had some neat features and you could even get special add-ons for it. One popular add-on was a TV-Tuner. This allowed people to watch regular television channels right on their Game Gear screen!
