How the Game Works

The show had several rounds. Each round tested the families in different ways. They played variations of well-known board games. They also answered trivia questions.

First Rounds: Board Game Fun

The first two rounds were all about board games. Families might play a version of Jenga. Or they could try a twist on Scrabble. Sometimes, a "Whack-A-Mole" machine appeared. Other times, families had to identify parts of board games. This could be artwork or playing pieces.

Later Rounds: Trivia Challenge

Rounds three and four focused on trivia. These questions were all about board games. Knowing your board game facts was key here. The fourth and final round was extra exciting. Correct answers in this round earned double the points!

The "Galaxy" Bonus Round

The winning family got to play the "Galaxy" bonus round. One family member went into a special room. This room used a greenscreen effect. The other family members had to guide them. They directed their teammate around a giant game board. They had to finish a task before time ran out. This round helped them earn points. Enough points could lead to a grand prize vacation! Some games in this round were like Perfection or Battleship. If the family scored enough points, they won an MP3 player.

Winning Big Prizes

The ultimate prize was a fantastic trip. It was an all-expenses-paid vacation for four people. The destination was Orlando, Florida. This amazing prize was worth $10,000. To win it, a family had to be super skilled. They needed to win both the semifinals and the finals.
