Gawler West is a suburb in South Australia. It's part of the town of Gawler. You can find it about 43 kilometers (27 miles) north of Adelaide. Its postcode is 5118.
The Gawler River and the Gawler railway line are near it. It also borders the suburbs of Gawler South and Evanston. In the 2000s, a part of Gawler West was renamed Reid. This changed the western border from the Gawler Bypass Road to the Gawler River.
History of Gawler West
Gawler West was created as a smaller part of the main Gawler township. After World War II, more homes were built in the area. This helped the suburb grow. The first homes built here were part of a Housing Trust project.

In the 2000s, a new housing area started to be built. This new area is on the flat land next to the Gawler River. It is also close to the Gawler Bypass road.
