How Gemmells Got Its Name
The name Gemmells comes from an early settler named Thomas Gemmell. He was one of the first farmers and "pastoralists" in this area. A pastoralist is someone who raises livestock, like sheep or cattle, on a large piece of land. Thomas Gemmell played a part in developing the land here a long time ago.
