Génesis Rodríguez Pérez (born July 29, 1987) is an American actress. She is known for her roles in TV shows and movies. You might recognize her voice as Honey Lemon from the Disney animated film Big Hero 6 and its TV series. She has also appeared in many other films like Man on a Ledge and The Last Stand.
Early Life
Génesis Rodríguez was born on July 29, 1987, in Miami, Florida. Her mother, Luisa Carolina "Carol" Pérez Rodríguez, was a model from Cuba. Her father, José Luis Rodríguez, is a famous singer and actor from Venezuela. He is also known as "El Puma." Her parents got married in 1996.
Acting Career
Génesis Rodríguez started her acting journey early. She had leading roles in Spanish-language TV shows called Prisionera (2004), Dame Chocolate (2007), and Doña Bárbara (2008–2009). These shows are similar to soap operas.
She also appeared in American TV shows. From 2005 to 2006, she had a role in the daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives. Later, she played Sarah on Entourage from 2010 to 2011. In 2017, she starred as Jane Walker in the TV series Time After Time.
Génesis has been in many movies too. In 2012, she was in the comedy film Casa de Mi Padre with Will Ferrell. She also appeared in the action-thriller The Last Stand in 2013, where she played FBI Agent Ellen Richards.
One of her most famous roles is providing the voice of Honey Lemon in the Disney animated film Big Hero 6 (2014). She continued to voice Honey Lemon in Big Hero 6: The Series from 2017 to 2021. She also voiced the character in the video game Kingdom Hearts III.
More recently, in 2022, she joined the cast of The Umbrella Academy for its third season. In this popular show, she played the superhero Sloane Hargreeves, also known as Sparrow Number Five. She has also appeared in music videos, including "Héroe Favorito" by Romeo Santos in 2017 and "Texas" by Blake Shelton in 2024.
