Génesis Rodríguez Pérez (born July 29, 1987) is an American actress. She started her acting career in Telemundo TV shows called telenovelas. Some of her first main roles were in Prisionera (2004), Dame Chocolate (2007), and Doña Bárbara (2008–2009).

Génesis has also acted in many movies. She was in Man on a Ledge (2012), Casa de Mi Padre (2012), and What to Expect When You're Expecting (2012). She also worked with Paul Walker in the film Hours (2013). You might also know her voice as Honey Lemon from the Disney animated movie Big Hero 6 (2014). She continued to voice Honey Lemon in Big Hero 6: The Series (2017–2021).

Génesis Rodríguez was born on July 29, 1987, in Miami, Florida. Her mother, Luisa Carolina "Carol" Pérez Rodríguez, was a model from Cuba. Her father is José Luis Rodríguez, a famous actor and singer from Venezuela. He is also known by his nickname "El Puma". Her parents got married in 1996.

Career Highlights

When Génesis was a child, she was a young dancer on a Venezuelan children's TV show called El Club de Los Tigritos. After that, she moved back to Miami. She continued her education with a tutor.

She also got a role on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives from November 2005 to January 2006. Génesis also appeared as a special guest on the Bravo TV show Top Chef. Besides American TV, she also got roles in Spanish-language shows. She played two main characters, Rosita Amado and Violeta Hurtado, in the TV series Dame Chocolate on Telemundo.

In 2012, Génesis had a big role in the comedy movie Casa de Mi Padre. In this film, she played the love interest of Will Ferrell. The movie was a funny take on Mexican soap operas from the 1970s. After that, she appeared in the action movie The Last Stand in 2013. She played a bad FBI Agent named Ellen Richards. She was also in the comedy Identity Thief as Marisol.

In 2014, Génesis used her voice for the character Honey Lemon in the Disney animated movie Big Hero 6. In February 2017, she was the main female role in the music video for Romeo Santos's song Héroe Favorito. More recently, in 2022, she played the superhero Sloane Hargreeves in The Umbrella Academy season 3.
