The Story of Geneva
Geneva became an official town in 1870. This happened when the Georgia General Assembly, which is like the state's main law-making group, made it official. The town's name comes from Geneva, a famous city in Switzerland.

Geneva is found in the southern part of Talbot County. You can find its exact spot using coordinates: 32°34′46″N 84°33′2″W / 32.57944°N 84.55056°W.
Roads and Travel
Several important roads run through Geneva. U.S. Route 80 goes north 8 miles (13 km) to Talbotton, which is the county seat. It also goes west 33 miles (53 km) to Columbus.
The new Fall Line Freeway also passes through Geneva. It leads east 6 miles (10 km) to Junction City. Georgia State Route 41 also goes through the town. It follows U.S. Route 80 north to Talbotton and goes south 20 miles (32 km) to Buena Vista.

People of Geneva
The number of people living in Geneva has changed over the years. In 1880, there were 254 residents. The population grew to 264 by 1900.
After that, the population slowly decreased. By 1950, about 209 people lived there. In 1960, it went up slightly to 262.
However, the population continued to decline in recent decades. In 2000, there were 114 people. By 2010, this number dropped to 105. The latest count in 2020 showed 75 people living in Geneva.
