Club Career Highlights
Genki Haraguchi has played for several football clubs throughout his career. He started his journey in Japan before moving to Germany.
Starting with Urawa Red Diamonds
Haraguchi began his professional career with Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan. He made his first professional appearance on May 25, 2008. This was in a J. League Cup match. He scored his first goal in a J. League Division 1 game on April 12, 2009. He played for Urawa Red Diamonds until 2014.
Playing in Germany: Hertha BSC
On May 25, 2014, Haraguchi joined Hertha BSC, a club in Germany. He scored his first goal for Hertha in a cup game on August 16, 2014. Later, he scored his first goal in the Bundesliga, Germany's top league, on March 14 against Schalke 04.
Loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf
In January 2018, Haraguchi went on loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf. He played an important part in helping the team get promoted to the Bundesliga. This meant they moved up to the top league.
Moving to Hannover 96
After his loan, Haraguchi joined Hannover 96 on June 11, 2018. He played for this club for three seasons.
Time at Union Berlin and VfB Stuttgart
Haraguchi later joined Union Berlin in 2021. He played there for two seasons. On January 30, 2023, he signed with VfB Stuttgart. He left VfB Stuttgart in May 2024 when his contract ended.
Return to Urawa Red Diamonds
In 2024, Genki Haraguchi returned to his first professional club, Urawa Red Diamonds.
