Georgetown is a small town in Copiah County, Mississippi, United States. In 2020, about 252 people lived there. The Pearl River forms its eastern border. Georgetown is also part of the larger Jackson Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Two important places near Georgetown are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These are special lists of buildings, sites, or objects that are important in American history. The first is the Highway 28 bridge over the Pearl River. It is located about a mile east of Georgetown. The second is the Alford-Little House, which is off Highway 27 south of town.

Georgetown's Location and Surroundings
Georgetown is found in the eastern part of Copiah County. Its exact location is 31°52′16″N 90°9′51″W. Mississippi Highway 28 runs through the town. If you go west on Highway 28 for about 14 miles, you will reach Hazlehurst. This is the main town, or county seat, of Copiah County. Going east on Highway 28 for about 29 miles leads to Magee.
Another road, Mississippi Highway 27, crosses Highway 28 at the northern edge of Georgetown. Traveling northwest on Highway 27 for about 15 miles takes you to Crystal Springs. If you head south on Highway 27 for about 23 miles, you will arrive in Monticello.
The United States Census Bureau says that Georgetown covers a total area of about 0.68 square miles (1.8 square kilometers). A very small part of this area, about 0.01 square miles (0.02 square kilometers), is water.
