Georgia Lee (born in 1976) is an American writer and director. She is well-known for her 2006 movie Red Doors.
Lee has also written and directed episodes for popular TV shows like The Expanse and The 100. She also created and is the main producer (called a showrunner) for the Netflix series Partner Track. This show is based on a book by Helen Wan.

Early Life and School
Georgia Lee was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her parents were immigrants from Taiwan. She grew up mostly in Waterford, Connecticut. The house she lived in there was even used in her movie Red Doors! She has a younger sister named Kathy Shao-Lin Lee.
Georgia was a very good student. She was the top student in her final year at Waterford High School. After high school, she went to Harvard University. There, she earned a degree in biochemistry, which is a science that studies living things and chemicals.
Her Career in Film
Georgia Lee started her film career by learning from famous director Martin Scorsese. She worked with him on his movie Gangs of New York. Scorsese noticed her after seeing her first short film, The Big Dish.
Her next short film was called Educated (made in 2001). This film was shown at more than 30 film festivals around the world.
Directing Red Doors
Lee wrote and directed her first full-length movie, Red Doors. This film won a special award at the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival in New York. It was named the Best Narrative Feature.
Red Doors also won other awards. It received a Special Jury Award for its great acting at CineVegas. It also won both the Audience Award and the Grand Jury Award for its writing at Outfest.
Georgia Lee has also been a judge at important film festivals. She has served as a juror for both the Sundance Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival.
