Gerald Dockery, born on August 17, 1970, is a former American football player. He played as a wide receiver and defensive back. He was part of the Arena Football League (AFL) for four seasons. He also played in the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Dockery later became a football coach. He led several teams as a head coach and offensive coordinator.

Early Life and College Football
Gerald Dockery grew up in Houston, Texas. He went to Worthing High School. At Worthing, he was a quarterback. In 2022, he was honored and added to Worthing's Wall of Fame.
After high school, he attended Arizona Western College. Later, he transferred to Eastern New Mexico University. There, he continued to play college football.
Professional Playing Career
Gerald Dockery played professional football for several teams. He was a wide receiver, catching passes for his team. He also played defensive back, helping to stop the other team from scoring.
Arena Football League (AFL)
Dockery played four seasons in the Arena Football League. This league plays football indoors on a smaller field. He played for three different teams:
- The Texas Terror in 1996.
- The Grand Rapids Rampage in 1998.
- The Houston ThunderBears from 2000 to 2001.
Canadian Football League (CFL)
Before his time in the AFL, Dockery also played in the Canadian Football League. He was a member of the Calgary Stampeders in 1995. The CFL has slightly different rules than American football.
Coaching Career
After his playing days, Gerald Dockery became a football coach. He coached both indoor football teams and other leagues.

Leading the Georgia Doom
During the 2018 season, the head coach of the Georgia Doom left. Gerald Dockery then stepped up to become the team's new head coach. In his first game as head coach, his team won against a top-ranked opponent. The Doom continued to play well under his leadership. They defeated both of the top teams in their league. However, the team was later removed from the playoffs, even though they had a good record. Dockery left the Doom after that season.
