Geranium Plains is a small town located in South Australia. It's part of the Regional Council of Goyder, which is like the local government for the area. The town once had its own post office, which opened in 1894, but it is now closed. There was even a plan in 1916 to change the town's name to Iperta, but this idea didn't happen.

Early History and Traditional Owners
The land where Geranium Plains is located was originally the home of the Ngadjuri people. They are the traditional owners of this area. The current official borders for the town, known as the "Bounded Locality," were set in August 2000.
St Stephen's Lutheran Church
St Stephen's Lutheran Church opened its doors in 1900. As of 2016, the church still holds services twice a month for the community. This church also played an important role in education. From 1901 to 1917, it served as the local state school.
Today, St Stephen's Church is part of a larger group called the "Eudunda Robertstown Lutheran Parish." This parish connects several Lutheran churches in nearby towns. These include churches in Robertstown, Point Pass, Eudunda, Neales Flat, and Peep Hill, along with Geranium Plains.
